role: ART DIRECTOR + FILMMAKER | nature of project: SHORT DOCUMENTARY + REPORTAGE | area: SHARED-VALUE BUSINESS | medias: PHOTOGRAPHY + ILLUSTRATION + FILM | duration: Taking A Walk: 20 minutes (full version) / Fanta Planet: 8 minutes (full version) | client: FANTA | commissioned by: Cria Global, consulting company in shared–value business | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 2011̌
Two documentaries + illustrated photograph for a shared-value business project /// Fanta hired Cria Global to help the brand develop a social business promoting the concept of ‘play with purpose’ among the teens living in low-income communities in Brazil. We first identified the need to set the context for all the participants to the project, both from Cria and Fanta international. This led to the making of the 20-minute sensorial documentary "Taking A Walk", which I directed / filmed / edited in Rocinha, the largest favela in Latin America, leading the spectator through the streets to have a little feel of the context‘s atmosphere (3 minute short version hereunder). We then gave a face to the teenagers’ profiles identified. As there are 3 main profiles, I condensed 3 different faces into one portrait with hand illustration. Lastly, once the idea of social business fully developed, we produced the film "Fanta Planet" enclosing the project Play With Purpose, explaining the problematic of the teenagers and introducing Cria‘s suggestion of social business to implement to help solve this problematic (the video hereunder contains only the first part as the second part is confidential).
