role: VISUAL CREATOR | nature of project: SCENOGRAPHY PROJECTIONS | area: THEATER | media: FILM | client: Enrique Diaz | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 2013
Video creations for the play Cine Monstro directed by Enrique Diaz and adapted from the Canadian playwright Daniel McIvor. The play begins in the beginning of time, in the dark and silence of nothingness. Alone on stage, Enrique Diaz turns into a series of 13 characters whose lives and stories slowly reveal to be related in a curious and subtle manner. The videos I made in partnership with Batman Zavareze were created to give a dreamlike audiovisual support to the play’s obsessive and fascinating narrative.

role: ART DIRECTOR + VISUAL CREATOR | nature of project: ILLUSTRATION | area: INSTITUTION | media: Digital hand drawing | client: Museu do Amanhã | commissioned by: Cria Global consulting company in shared–value business | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 2011
Illustrations of 4 possible scenarios of OUR FUTURE /// Cria Global held an 1-day workshop to brainstorm on the possible contents of the Museum Of Tomorrow later inaugurated in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. The workshop’s methodology was to lead the participants to elaborate scenarios of possible futures. From the scenarios written that day, I created two pairs of black & white drawings, conceived as if they were ancient etchings foretelling our future. Each pair is composed by one positive scenario and another one negative, mirroring its opposite vision. Then, I joined each couple by superposition in 2 color posters, breaking the polar vision of the pairs and creating a more complex vision of our future...But, optimistic, I delibarately put forward the most positive scenario of each matrix. Then, as our future will depend on our own choices, we developed a wood puzzle that lets you construct each possibility. The future is in our hands...

role: CREATIVE & ART DIRECTOR + VISUAL CREATOR + FILM DIRECTOR | nature of project: MULTIMEDIA CAMPAIGN | area: FASHION | medias: PHOTOGRAPHY + FILM | duration: 3 minutes | territory: nationwide | client: Fabula | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 2012
Multimedia campaign for the kid fashion brand Fabula 2013 Spring/Summer collection conceived as a tale told through a film with an original song.
As for the previous campaign GRaUhu, I created a tale for the little ones. Told through a song especially conceived for the campaign, "Confete" (« confetti » in portuguese) celebrates life through a story handling the theme of death. I once again invited the magician Domenico Lancellotti to write together the lyrics and compose the original music, sang and played by himself, along with Pedro Baby and Altair Martins. The song's trumpet interludes punctuate the drama : the wind moves along a mix of traditional mexican dance with brazilian funk steps and, yes, moves from the eternal King of Pop. | THE TALE: I constructed the story around two families of prints from the collection : the birds and the traditional calavera (« skull » in spanish). Symbol of the « Dia de los Muertos » (Day of the Dead) holiday, the calavera represents death but also rebirth. Celebrated in Mexico since the Aztec period, the holiday honors the deceased in a very colorful and lively manner, seizing life and death as a never-ending cycle. > Discover hereunder the FILM, the tale’s translation in english, the lookbook pictures as well as the making of celebrating all the humans and flowers who participated to this project.
role: CREATIVE & ART DIRECTOR + VISUAL CREATOR + FILM DIRECTOR | nature of project: MULTIMEDIA CAMPAIGN | area: FASHION | medias: PHOTOGRAPHY + ILLUSTRATION + FILM | duration: 3 minutes | territory: nationwide | client: Fábula | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 2012
Multimedia campaign for Fábula's 2012 Fall/Winter collection conceived as a tale told through a short film + a limited edition catalogue with photographs and hand illustrations. As the brand’s name "fábula" literally means "tale" in portuguese, I imagined a tale for the campaign of this collection. My primary inspiration for its creation is one of the clothes’ prints: a bear on a bicycle. I invited the musician Domenico Lancellotti to narrate the story and to create an original music, with an experimental arrangement. I then adapted the tale for a printed version, with additional hand illustrations and typography. Conceived as a limited edition of art prints, it was printed on A3 canvas paper to have a “fabric” touch. Concerning the animal masks, I handmade them with my fairy-assistant Alice Gelli and thanks to their success in the tale we had the pleasure to then adapt them for a commercial version in a limited serie, sold in Fábula’s stores for carnival.
THE TALE: GraUhu is a story about solidarity and the construction of identity: having lost her yell during a bike ride, a teddy is comforted by new friends who help her look for it. As they weren’t able to find it, they create together an unique new one: « GRaUhu! », which is the mix of a growl with a shout of happiness ("uhu" in portuguese).
